Why Should I apply for a Travel / Entry Waiver?
When you travel to a Foreign Country with a criminal record you may be refused entry at the border. Traveling abroad with a criminal record or traveling if you have previously been refused entry can be risky.

An Entry Waiver will help you avoid:

Being Deported; |

Your vehicle and its contents being seized and possibly being forfeited. |

How Soon Can I apply for a Travel / Entry Waiver?

You are eligible to apply if:

You have committed a criminal act (for which you were not charged) and five years have passed since the act; or |

You have been convicted and five years have passed since the end of the sentence imposed |

How long does it take to get a Travel / Entry Waiver?
It usually takes about 4 months to prepare an application. Receiving an Entry Waiver takes approximately 1 year from the time the application is filed - so plan ahead and apply well before you need to travel!
What will happen if I attempt to travel without a Travel / Entry Waiver?

Here's what may happen:

You will be advised that you will not be allowed to enter the foreign country and you will be asked to return to your country of departure; or |

The country you are trying to enter will take enforcement action (arrest, detention and/or removal) |
